Kubernetes in the Ankra platform

2 operations of the Ankra Cloud API: A managed Kubernetes cluster's registration in the Ankra platform (ADR 0006): registering it in the account's platform organisation now, and taking it out of the platform. Registration otherwise happens on its own once a cluster runs; its state is platform on the cluster.

Take a Kubernetes cluster out of the Ankra platform#

DELETE/v1/kubernetes-clusters/{id}/platform
Operation
remove_kubernetes_cluster_from_platform
Credentials
API token, Portal session
Requires
Permission operate

Starts a kubernetes_cluster.platform_deregister operation: the cloud controller and CSI driver go back under the cluster's own add-on releases, the cluster is removed from the platform organisation, and the platform agent is uninstalled. The cluster keeps running and is not registered again until someone asks.

  • 401Not signed in, or the credential is invalid or expired.
  • 403The role lacks the permission, the token is read-only (a read-only token also gets reason: read_only_token_cannot_read_credentials on every credential read), the CSRF header is missing, a support session may not do this, or the route needs a verified email address and the caller's is not (reason: email_unverified).
  • 404No such resource in the caller's account.
  • 409The resource's state does not allow this now.
  • 503No capacity or address is free, or a host did not answer; try again later.
  • defaultAny other error, usually 500.

Example

bash
curl -X DELETE 'https://cloud.ankra.app/v1/kubernetes-clusters/<id>/platform' \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ANKRA_CLOUD_TOKEN"

Register a Kubernetes cluster in the Ankra platform now#

POST/v1/kubernetes-clusters/{id}/platform/register
Operation
register_kubernetes_cluster_in_platform
Credentials
API token, Portal session
Requires
Permission operate

Starts a kubernetes_cluster.platform_register operation whatever the registration's state: a pending, unlinked, failed or removed registration starts over, and a registered cluster declares its stacks again. The cluster is imported into the account's Ankra platform organisation under its own name, the platform agent is installed with the cluster's add-ons, and the Ankra cloud controller and CSI driver become platform stacks. The cluster must be running. Its registration never changes the cluster's own state.
